They "lost" a LOT of cash on 3rd-party memory card sales in the PS1 era, in large part because their own cards were obscenely overpriced. I don't see how it creates any demand for Sony's own cards.īut the big thing was to ensure that Sony got a cut. Is that myth just a way to attempt to stir demand for Sony cards? Just odd in that fashion. So, that means that any non-first party memory card has Sony proprietary hardware in it.which means "go to town" with any 3rd party card.
